– U.S. Manufacturing Renaissance Turns Into the Dark Ages

The October ISM Manufacturing Index, which has been the official barometer of the U.S. manufacturing sector since 1915, came in with a reading of just 50.1. This was a level barely above contraction.

Of the 18 industries surveyed in the Regional Manufacturing Survey, 9 reported contraction in October: Apparel, leather & allied products; primary metals; petroleum & coal products; plastics & rubber products; electrical equipment, appliances & components; machinery; transportation equipment; wood products; and computer & electronic products.

Energy Struggles

And of those nine, the energy market in particular continues to struggle the most. One respondent in the survey noted that the effects of the weak energy market are now beginning to bleed into other areas of the economy.

In addition to this, new orders for U.S. factory goods fell for a second straight month in September (down 1.0 %), confirming the manufacturing sector in the United States has hit a downturn. In fact, U.S. factory orders have fallen y/y for 11 of last 14 months; and contracted 6.9% from September 2014.

Furthermore, demand for durable goods fell 1.2% in September. While demand for nondurable goods (goods not expected to last more than three years) fell 0.8%. This placed downward pressure on GDP in the third quarter leading to a disappointing 1.5% GDP read.

During the month of September a majority of U.S. states reported jobs losses, as the slowing manufacturing sector weighed on hiring nationwide. The Labor Department recently announced that 27 states actually lost jobs in the month of September. This data belies the rosy headline 271k Non-Farm Payroll report issued for October: the Labor Department releases individual state data a month in arrears.

Turning Back To The Dark Ages 

All this bad news begs the question: Has the former manufacturing renaissance in the United States officially turned back into the dark ages?

Despite huge kudo’s to U.S. ingenuity for inventing fracking and horizontal drilling technologies, the viability of these innovations depends upon an unsustainable bubble in oil prices. Fracking is just one example of the misallocation of capital resulting from faulty price signals derived from central banks’ manipulation of interest rates.

And this failure isn’t limited to our Federal Reserve. The strategies of central banks all over the world are failing.

Problems In Europe And Japan

The European Central Bank (ECB) to date is in the process of printing the equivalent of $67 billion of QE per month, which will amount to a total of $1.2 trillion (or 1.1 trillion euros) by the time Mario Draghi’s QE program is slated to end in September of 2016.

Considering all that money printing, GDP in the Eurozone was only a pathetic 1.2% larger than it was one year ago.

Once the star of the Eurozone economy, German GDP disappointed with growth of 0.4% for the second quarter instead of the 0.5% analysts had been expecting. The French figure came in completely flat, and Italy, the Eurozone’s third biggest economy, disappointed with growth of just 0.2%.

Italy’s unemployment rate managed to fall in September, even as its economy lost 36,000 jobs during the month. This was because more discouraged workers left the workforce. As growth rates languish and economies lose jobs, central banks are getting more and more desperate to create inflation, which they like to masquerade as growth.

But the sad truth is even with over a trillion Euros of new money printed, governments are not achieving the inflation rates or the GDP growth they are seeking.

And then we have Japan, which is entering into its 3rd recession since the Abenomics regime took control in December 2012. The BOJ has been in the habit of printing 80 trillion yen each year! Nevertheless, its debt to GDP is approaching 250%, and annual deficits are 8% of GDP. The BOJ is buying 90% of all the bonds issued, and now owns half of all Japanese ETF’s. Yet despite a train wreck of an economy and horrific debt and deficits the 10 year note—in a perfect example of a central bank distorting economic reality–is yielding just 0.3%.

Our Fed has printed $3.5 trillion since 2008 in a futile attempt to get the economy growing at what Keynesians term as escape velocity. However, we have only averaged 2% growth since 2010. And growth in 2015 appears to be even less, as the all-important manufacturing sector is now clearly in a recession, and is now dragging down the rest of the economy.

Governments Control Everything But This Will End In Chaos

Today, there are no free markets left anywhere in the world. Governments control the fixed income, equity and real estate sectors; and therefore control the entire economy. And what was once touted as the U.S. manufacturing renaissance has morphed into another example of how government’s abrogation of free markets will ultimately result in economic chaos and entropy.

Steven Seagal Thinks Many Mass Shootings Are “Engineered” by the Government

There are few issues right now more contentious than gun control. One of these issues happens to be “false flag” operations. Actor Steven Seagal has previously sounded off on both. In an interview with RT, the action star-turned second amendment fundamentalist claimed “a lot” of domestic shootings in America were “engineered” in order to drum up support for gun control legislation.



In the video, Steven Seagal speaks forthrightly about his belief that there is a concerted effort by the government to violate our rights as part of an assault on the constitution:
“I believe in the second amendment and our constitution more than anything in the world, and I think that Adolf Hitler – for example — when he wanted to annihilate the people of Germany —  the first thing he did was to take away their guns.

And the right to bear arms wasn’t just to protect the people from foreign invaders, it was to protect them from evil governments, and anyone that would violate their inherited rights as human beings.”

He continues, “I believe that, and I hate to say this, a lot of these mass murders and all this funny stuff that’s going on, I believe a lot of this is engineered.”

The conspiracy theory surrounding domestic false flag shootings conjures intense emotions on both sides. “Truthers” claim the government uses either CIA operatives or patsies controlled by MKULTRA style psyops in order to foment violence so abhorrent that Americans will be forced to embrace gun control legislation. They believe the end-game of such an insidious scheme is to disarm the general population in advance of extensive martial law or indefinite FEMA detention.

Whether any of this theory is true or not is endlessly debatable but highly unlikely. Theorists who claim every mass shooting is a government conspiracy — without providing concrete proof — detract from the documented fact that governments do partake in conspiracies and false flag operations.

However, while the mechanism by which domestic shootings could be “engineered” is still unknown, the MKULTRA program is an established historical fact. Researchers are still uncovering CIA connections from this time period, but we do know experimental subjects included Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber.

Governments Desperately Trying To Keep The Illusion Going As Crashing Stock & Bond Markets Set To Shock The World!

Egon von Greyerz:  “Eric, I don’t think the general public has any understanding of what is happening in the world today and the incredible risks we are seeing.  Since 2008, world debt is up over 40 percent and so now the world has unsustainable debt levels of over $200 trillion….

Governments have tried to keep the illusion going by moving rates to zero or even negative in many countries.  But even with all the money printing and stimulus, the world economy has still not reacted to it and has stopped growing.  In fact, economies are actually starting to contract in many countries.

China contributed 85 percent of global growth in 2012.  But China is beginning to struggle and their contribution to global growth this year is only expected to be 24 percent.  Of course that will have major repercussions for the entire world because China has been a huge buyer of both commodities and machinery.  That buying spree is now declining dramatically.

The only thing left in the various governments' tool kits is fiscal stimulus.  But with countries mismanaging their economies and running major deficits, it will be impossible to increase the deficits because it will cause the debt to skyrocket.  Who will repay the additional printed money and debt?

Demographics is also a major problem for industrialized nations.  Take Germany, where 20 percent of the population is already over 65 years old.  That figure will grow to 30 percent by the year 2040.  In Japan, today 25 percent of the population is over 65 but that figure will grow to a staggering 40 percent by the year 2060.

Japanese Economy Won't Survive 400 Percent Debt/GDP Ratio

So there won’t be enough young people working in Japan to keep the economy going in order to pay the pensions for the elderly, much less to pay off the massive debts of Japan.  Look at Japan:  They have 250 percent Debt/GDP ratio today.  By 2035 they will have a Debt/GDP ratio of 400 percent.  Obviously that is totally unsustainable.  This is why the Japanese economy will not survive.

And at the same time that world economic problems are becoming insurmountable, geopolitical risk is increasing dramatically.  ISIS is likely to take all of Iraq in the next few months and then they will threaten Saudi Arabia.  Saudi Arabia is also likely to be attacked from Yemen.  If ISIS foments a civil war in Saudi Arabia, both the United States and Israel will get involved.

The other danger zone, besides Ukraine, is the South China Sea.  China is expanding their territory and they consider that it belongs to them.  But of course the Pentagon has said that they consider China to be a major threat to peace because of this expansion.  China has responded to that by saying that war is inevitable if the U.S. does not stop asking Beijing to halt construction of artificial islands.

So, Eric, the risks are increasing everywhere and the situation could become uncontrollable at any time, both economically and geopolitically.  Problems could erupt at any moment that would shock an unprepared world that would lead to stock and bond markets crashing together along with the dollar.  This will mean skyrocketing gold prices.  In that environment people may see gold soar a few hundred dollars in just a single day.

Exchange Controls To Trap Citizens And Their Money

At the same time governments are doing more and more to control people.  Cash withdrawals are being reduced and more draconian banking measures are being put in place.  This trend will only accelerate with governments seeking even more control over their people.

I could also see exchange controls being introduced in the not-too-distant future.  That will make it impossible to take any money out of the country.  That’s why it is so important to keep physical gold outside of the banking system and preferably outside of your country of residence as insurance against the unprecedented risks that the world is now facing.  

Unfortunately, when disaster strikes, very few people will be prepared.”

Obama Attacked Over Party Platform on Jerusalem

CHARLOTTE, N.C.–The Democratic Party platform doesn’t state that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, a change from prior years that could provide fuel to critics who say President Barack Obama’s commitment to Israel is weak.

“President Obama and the Democratic Party maintain an unshakable commitment to Israel’s security,” begins the 70-page platform in a section titled “The Middle East.” The three-paragraph section details the Obama administration’s support for Israel—including boosting security assistance—but says nothing about Jerusalem.

Such an omission provide an opening to Mr. Obama’s rival for the presidency, Mitt Romney, as Jewish voters—particularly in the battleground state of Florida—are key to the election.

“It is unfortunate that the entire Democratic Party has embraced President Obama’s shameful refusal to acknowledge that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital,” Mr. Romney said in a statement. He added, “Four years of President Obama’s repeated attempts to create distance between the United States and our cherished ally have led the Democratic Party to remove from their platform an unequivocal acknowledgment of a simple reality. As president, I will restore our relationship with Israel and stand shoulder to shoulder with our close ally.”

A spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee, Melanie Roussell, said the Obama administration’s policy toward Jerusalem mirrors that of previous administrations. “As the White House said several months ago, the status of Jerusalem is an issue that should be resolved in final status negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians – which we also said in the 2008 platform. We will continue to work with the parties to resolve this issue as part of a two state solution that secures the future of Israel as a Jewish state and the homeland of the Jewish people.”

Traditionally both the Republicans and Democrats have called during election-year campaigns for Jerusalem to be the capital of the Jewish state. Mr. Obama stated this in a 2008 campaign speech in front of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Washington most powerful pro-Israel lobby.

But once in office, presidents from both parties have made little effort to implement such a policy, in part, because such steps would undercut efforts to forge a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians.

For years, both parties’ official platforms have mentioned that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel as part of an effort to show unflagging support to the country (and to garner support with Jewish voters). In 2008, the Democratic Party’s platform said “Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.”

The Republican Party’s platform for 2012 says “We support Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state with secure, defensible borders; and we envision two democratic states—Israel with Jerusalem as its capital and Palestine—living in peace and security.”

The GOP’s platform also omits details about Israel that it had in its 2008 platform. In 2008, the GOP said “We support Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel and moving the American embassy to that undivided capital of Israel.”

This year’s platform makes no mention of moving the embassy. Mr. Romney in July said the U.S. embassy should be moved to Jerusalem and that he’d consult with the Israel about how to do it. Moving the embassy could inflame tensions in the region because Palestinians believe it should be their capital.

Mr. Obama has had a shaky relationship with Israel and its leaders. In 2011, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a rare public rebuke of Mr. Obama at the White House over the president’s comments that peace negotiations should resume based on Israel’s borders before it gained new territory in the 1967 Six Day War.

Mr. Netanyahu, speaking before reports with the president in the Oval Office, turned to face the president while telling him Israel “cannot go back to the 1967 lines” that are “indefensible.”

Federal Reserve has already started QE3, says investor Jim Rogers

Veteran US investor Jim Rogers believes the Federal Reserve has already launched a third round of quantitative easing, despite chairman Ben Bernanke failing to mention stimulus measures in his Jackson Hole speech last week.

Mr Rogers, who co-founded the Quantum Fund with George Soros, believes that America's central bank is secretly printing money to avoid "getting egg on their face again" after previous attempts to kickstart the faltering economy with $2 trillion of QE failed.

"I do not know if they [the Fed] will announce it," he told India's Economic Times. "I know they are going to print more money. They already are. If you look at their balance sheets, you will see that something is happening, assets are building on their balance sheets and they are not coming from the tooth fairy.

"They are a little bit embarrassed because they announced QE1 and QE2, and it did not work. So they may try to discuss it. They may just continue to do it without getting egg on their face again, but they are going to print money, they are all going to print money. It is the wrong thing to do, but that is all they know how to do."

He told the Daily Telegraph: "They probably have learned how to do things off balance sheet. I have nothing to confirm this but everyone else has learned how, so they probably have too. This is just a comment on human nature."

Mr Bernanke said in his annual speech at Jackson Hole on Friday that the country's high level of unemployment - it climbed to 8.3pc in July - is a "grave concern" and that the "economic situation remains far from satisfactory".

The US's plight is echoed across the Western world as the eurozone grapples with its own debt crisis that threatens to see Greece leave the single currency. Spain and Italy are also struggling with recession as austerity measures championed by Germany eat away at growth.

And Mr Rogers believes there is no end in sight to the eurozone's problems.

"There are going to be more problems coming out of Europe," he said. "You have got countries that are essentially bankrupt. Nobody is dealing with the problems in Europe. You look at everyone out there. They all have higher debts and all of their projections, maybe Bulgaria and one or two more countries do not have higher debts in their projections, but everybody has got increasing debt. The solution to too much debt is not more debt."

As turbulence rocks Western stock markets - the Euro Stoxx 50 index is down 3.1pc from its year-high in March after falling 18.8pc - investors have turned to emerging markets such as Asia for returns. However, Mr Rogers - whose Quantum portfolio gained 4,200pc in the 10 years to 1983 as the S&P advanced about 47pc - says the East has major problems of its own.

"I doubt [India can overcome its sluggish growth]. The debt to GDP in India is now more than 90pc. Study shows that when you get that high debt ratio, it is very difficult to grow in a dynamic way... India has inflation for its own reasons... I am not a fan of India. In fact, I am short on India."

Even China, which has enjoyed double-digit growth in recent years, is at risk from a financial crisis as the government seeks to cool the economy. Chinese manufacturing fell to a three-year low on Monday in a further sign China is headed for a "hard landing".

"China tried tightening for three years," Mr Rogers added. "It started back in 2009 or so to try to kill the inflation bubble and the property bubble. Rightly so in my view. Now they are starting to loosen up. I would not loosen up yet if I were China because they need to kill inflation totally and they need to totally pop the property bubble. But I am not China. They are going to do what they want to do."

With the eurozone crisis spreading to all corners of the globe, traditional safe havens have come to the fore. The gold price, for instance, traded above $1,900 an ounce last year but is now around $1,689. However, Mr Rogers believe this will start to rise again once governments are forced into restarting stimulus measures.

"Unfortunately, all central banks know to do is to print money. You are going to see more money printing, more debasement of currency and, therefore, the price of gold will go much higher over the course of the decade... The situation with gold is that it has been up 11 years in a row without a down year, which is extremely unusual."

Another commodity that is predicted to rise is oil, as supply issues and potential wars push the price ever higher.

"The surprise with oil is going to be how high it stays and how high it goes," Mr Rogers said. "We are running out of known reserves of oil. There may be a lot of oil in the world. If there is, we just don't know where it is. So prices are going to stay high and go much higher. If America goes to war with Iran, they are going to skyrocket."

Mr Rogers recommends buying oil if the price crashes on a country such as Spain leaving the eurozone.

The Coming Storm

“We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.” Jeremiah 3:25. The nation of Israel was in trouble. They had ignored God and sinned against Him for generations. Can other nations learn from the mistakes Israel made? Nations today are of the same mindset as Israel all those millennia ago. Humanity as a whole has learned nothing. God is still being ignored, even forsaken. Today’s societies have dishonored God, His creation is nothing more than a disgrace, and we hide ourselves in our shame. God’s patience is surely waning and His judgment is upon us.

When a nation or a people contrive amongst themselves, against wisdom, to systematically remove the God of all creation from the sphere of common knowledge, consequences will follow. God may well take a step back so that those deceived individuals who have rejected Him are given a glimpse of what it would be like living without Him and His blessings. Of course God never really leaves as desertion is not included in our Father’s attributes. But to make a point, our God might begin a series of actions to help bring back into focus that which has been dulled by many decades of disobeying God and His precepts.

Turmoil is very evident of late. It seems that now, more than in any period of our history, we live daily with much disorder and confusion in our midst. But sitting just off the horizon is “The Coming Storm” which will make today’s turmoil’s seem more like child’s play. What am I talking about? Brewing in the under belly of humanity is a massive amount of pent up anger and frustration. There is an implosion coming.

Currently, deep seated emotions are running amuck – seemingly uncontrollable. There’s an attitude among many today that leans toward a basic survival instinct which blends well with an animalistic nature. There is a driving force behind this nonhuman concept and it is moving to the surface of every civilization like a volcano ready to spew out its molten lava. We are surrounded by unimaginable, supernatural violence. More and more the violent attacks on members of our society seem to be taking on an animalistic personality. What we are seeing is just the beginning of people “feeding” off one another, both emotionally and literally.

Preceding disorder is an invisible undercurrent of wickedness. Yes, lying in the path of all civilization is “The Coming Storm”, and that storm will be of such magnitude hearts will fail mankind. “Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:26. What things? Things that mankind are not familiar with; incredibly unbelievable and devastating things that will shake mankind to the core. Apprehension, disillusionment, anger, corruption, and despair will become valid responses as the people of earth are thrust into ever increasing disorder; anything but business as usual.

That Coming Storm which is currently brewing will be preceded by very terrifying events, events which will disrupt the natural ebb and flow that nations depend on for a balanced society. Those events will include, but are not limited to, massive and frequent earthquakes, ever increasing famines, mind boggling pervasive diseases, uncontrollable wildfires, extreme droughts, and one that will catch many Americans off guard is the coming economic collapse which will shake American greed and her self-indulged materialism to its core. Most people won’t heed warnings of a cataclysmic nature until the cataclysm is upon them. We read in our Bibles that the last days will be wrought with catastrophic events. Since most of earth’s population considers the Bible a fairytale, they give no credence to its warnings of future events. The Bible has never missed regarding the prophecies found within its pages, and it never will.

Natural catastrophic events are not the only game in town. Satan and his cohorts are fully aware of the signs that point to the soon approaching last seven year period before Christ’s return. There is a huge amount of malevolent supernatural activity which is creating major havoc around the globe. Many Christians are oblivious to the writing on the wall; they have no grasp of the ominous times which we’re now experiencing. As our time on planet earth dwindles we will be confronted with many more of the enemy’s deceptions which are all planned to create mayhem.

We can see by all the horrid news reports being thrust at us with an ever increasing frequency that the demonic realm is in full military posture. Fathers murdering their children, mothers killing their babies and turning cannibalistic. People biting and ripping other people apart with their teeth and then eating the flesh of those they’ve just chewed on. Most of these bazaar occurrences are perpetrated by naked men with super human strength. This weirdness is just the beginning. We will see much worse actions from these demon possessed individuals. Yes, I said demon possessed individuals. Make no mistake, Satan is building an army of human followers bent on the destruction of their fellow man. What we are being told by the media should be dismissed as nonsensical and even blatant deception. Yes drugs play a part in that they open a portal for the demonic to enter our domain, where they can proceed to possess the people who place themselves in that drug induced state. What we witness in these ongoing horrific events can only be described as supernatural demonic forces capitalizing on mankind’s own foolishness.

If you don’t believe we are in as much trouble as I believe we are, a trip to your local ER might help convince you. I was in the hospital a few days ago for tests. The young lady doing the testing was also an ER attendant. She told my wife and me a hair-raising story. Apparently this new drug “bath salts” is not hard to come by, and when used it creates a monster inside a monster. Most who take this new drug are already under the influence of mind altering drugs, so they compound the problem. One young woman was brought into the ER after using “bath salts”. While undergoing detoxification she told our attendant that she had a three year old daughter who she left at home (alone) as punishment – the child had messed up the house. The young woman explained to the attendant that she never wanted the child. It was only her boyfriend that wanted a baby. Our attendant told us this kind of thing goes on all the time here in this little rural “Bible belt” community. It boggles the mind to even imagine the demonic goings on in every city and community around the globe. 

When people look at evil through humanistic eyes, they can’t see that the mass of wickedness currently affecting all societies is supernatural rather than simply drug or alcohol induced. As recently alluded to in the Aurora Colorado massacre, insanity is said to have played a part in that horrific episode. No, the wickedness that is being observed on every continent is not insanity but demonic. The end, which most of us familiar with the Bible prophecies have been patiently waiting for, is currently in sight. Not a pretty sight but it’s here, and it is burgeoning.

For the most part, people today have no spiritual discernment. Therefore as the news stories of horrible wickedness and destruction become more prevalent society will only react in ways that will add to their confusion (perplexity). There will be much more corruption, which will be feeding the wickedness like pouring gas on an already burning fire. Because the ruler of the universe (the One true God) is no longer considered relevant in most societies today, the malevolent supernatural forces being unleashed on these lands have begun to enforce their satanic mandate of invasion. Most of earth’s current population belongs to Satan, and they’re playing right into his hand. Without God there can be no defense against the wiles of the devil. Sadly, the majority of folks today want nothing to do with our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Why is that?

“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2 Corinthians 4:4. The deceptions that have been the prevailing teachings through many different venues for so long are the blinding force which has shrouded the minds of the lost so thoroughly that they won’t see the truth. It’s not that they can’t see it, but that they refuse to see it. They belong to Satan; they follow him and do his will. This is precisely why wickedness is burgeoning at a phenomenal rate. Satan is a real supernatural being bent on the destruction of mankind. His only agenda is to steal, kill, and destroy, and he will use all his human conscripts to accomplish that goal.

The refusal to recognize God as Creator and Saviour is paramount on earth right now. Thus, as God sees no other alternative because of the worldwide rejection of Him, major catastrophic events are on the way. In America we’re currently experiencing an economic meltdown, super high unemployment coupled with an ever diminishing living wage, together with a nationwide drought all add to the disruption of normalcy. Corn prices are rising as the crops are decimated, added to that is the fact that cattle ranchers no longer have the wherewithal to feed and water their herds. All this is coupled with ever increasing food prices at our local markets. These upheavals are bringing with them a sense of uselessness from what was once a stable middle class. What we plainly see brewing, my brethren, is The Coming Storm.

Tempers are on edge, anger is going unchecked in much of society. People are in a quandary as to what tomorrow will bring as they watch their once thriving societies crumbling before their eyes.

There is nothing normal about the demonic. Although the malevolent supernatural legions may not be responsible for our current weather patterns, they certainly know how to capitalize on every crisis. Whenever Satan observes humans turning their backs on God he will use his new human conscripts in his attempts to disrupt the salvation plan of God. Those who have no hope will embrace the wickedness that we now see coming upon this planet. Today we see armies of young lost men and women prowling the streets seeking to dominate and terrorize the unsuspecting and this horrible phenomenon is also burgeoning.

Many people believe we are moving into a new era of human history. Not so. This world’s civilizations are firmly planted on a teetering precipice that has been our lot for decades. Every nation on earth is currently on a collision course with an inhuman and immovable malevolent force. Evil will not only persist in these last days, but we will become astonished at how rapidly the digression into full on wickedness occurs. People will begin to worship whatever idol they can conjure up in hopes of curtailing the violence. Sadly, returning to the One true God will not be part of most of the last days inhabitants endeavors.

Storms are brewing, storms of wickedness, immorality, major civil unrest, there is an incredible amount of thievery, as well as other corruptions including murder all taking place at a phenomenal pace. This is what comes of nations that turn away from their Creator. All of these consequences are avoidable, but they are inevitable when corruption and sinfulness becomes the norm.

“Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.” Micah 7:7. As Christians we have nothing to fear from Satan or his minions of evil as we look forward to the soon arrival of Jesus Christ. We were once Satan’s property but now we’ve become defectors from his camp, thus Satan is lying in wait for each of us. With our armor firmly in place we are fully protected against any payback the enemy may have up his sleeve. But don’t become cocky in your confidence; we can be adversely affected anytime we let down our guard. Satan and his conscripts will give no quarter to those who mean to stand in his way. Right now, standing in his way are all the children of God. If you are not prepared for the battle of a lifetime perhaps you should grab your Bible and study it (Ephesians 6 in particular) instead of watching baseball or some other distraction that has no eternal value.

Leaning on the God of your salvation is the key. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7. Although Satan is completely out of his league when compared with the Creator of the universe he is a very real and powerful supernatural being, one we humans should never take lightly. God has given us the power to withstand the devil, so withstand.

Man Sentenced to 30 Days for Catching Rain Water on Own Property Enters Jail

(CNSNews.com) – Gary Harrington, the Oregon man convicted of collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his rural property surrendered Wednesday morning to begin serving his 30-day, jail sentence in Medford, Ore.

“I’m sacrificing my liberty so we can stand up as a country and stand for our liberty,” Harrington told a small crowd of people gathered outside of the Jackson County (Ore.) Jail.

Several people held signs that showed support for Harrington as he was taken inside the jail.

Harrington was found guilty two weeks ago of breaking a 1925 law for having, what state water managers called “three illegal reservoirs” on his property. He was convicted of nine misdemeanors, sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined over $1500 for collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his property.

The Oregon Water Resources Department, claims that Harrington has been violating the state’s water use law by diverting water from streams running into the Big Butte River.

But Harrington says he is not diverting the state's water -- merely collecting rainwater and snow melt that falls or flows on his own property.

Harrington has vowed to continue to fight the penalty, stating that the government has become “big bullies” and that “from here on in, I’m going to fight it.”

“They’ve just gotten to be big bullies and if you just lay over and die and give up, that just makes them bigger bullies, Harrington said in an interview two weeks ago with CNSNews.com.

"We as Americans, we need to stand on our constitutional rights, on our rights as citizens and hang tough. This is a good country, we’ll prevail,” he said.

His release is expected in early September.

Maria Conchita Alonso: Obama Reelection Moves U.S. Towards Becoming Chavez's Venezuela

STEVE MALZBERG: One other question about Obama. Again, Hollywood, your industry embraces Obama, has fundraisers in their homes for Obama, yet Obama wants to punish people who are successful. Don’t’ the people in Hollywood understand that Obama will go after them and is going after them?

 MARIA CONCHITA ALONSO: I guess not, but you know what? They will understand when it touches them. Sadly that's what happens. A lot of people voted for Chavez I believe in the first term – which that’s the only one I believe that he won for real – and, and because he lied. And then, like more than half of the people that voted for him started realizing because then they started being, you know, punished like. They took away their jobs, you know, because they became like, they, they closed down stores, they closed down super markets. Venezuela was a country that exported so much food. We had all the medicines in the world. Now we are importing everything because he has destroyed the economy.

MALZBERG: Maria, do you believe if Obama wins again we could wind up like Venezuela in any way?

 ALONSO: Well, I think that would be a step forward that, moving forward there.

 MALZBERG: You mean a step towards that, a move in that direction. You mean we’ll move in that direction towards Venezuela?

 ALONSO: Yeah, I don’t mean that that’s going to happen in the next term, but in more time that there will be to make that happen in the near future.

Khamenei Warns Iran’s Top Leaders: WAR IN WEEKS

On July 27, just before Friday prayers, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei summoned top Iranian military chiefs for what he called “their last war council.”

“We’ll be at war within weeks,” he told the gathering, debkafile’s exclusive Iranian and intelligence sources disclose.

Present were Defense Minister General Ahmad Vahidi, Khamenei’s military adviser General Yahya Rahim-Safavi, Armed Forces Chief Major General Seyed Hassan Firuzabadi, Revolutionary Guards Corps commander General Mohammad Ali Jafari and Al Qods Brigades chief General Qassem Soleimani. The commanders of the air force, the navy and ground forces were also there.

Each of the participants was tapped to report on the readiness of his branch or sector for shouldering its contingency mission.

While retaliation had been exhaustively drilled in regular military exercises in the past year, Khamenei ordered the biggest fortification project in Iran’s history to save its nuclear program from even the mightiest of America’s super-weapons. Rocks are being gathered from afar, piled on key nuclear installations, covered with many tons of poured concrete and finally plated with steel.

That same Friday, the US Air force unveiled its new Massive Ordnance Penetrators. Each bunker buster weighs 30,000 pounds and is able to penetrate 60 feet of reinforced concrete.

Turning to retaliation, the war council endorsed a battery of paybacks for potential US and/or Israeli pre-emptive strikes against its nuclear program. They would start by announcing enhanced uranium enrichment up to 60 percent - that is close to weapons grade.

Oft-tested ballistic missiles, Shehab-3, would be loosed against Israel, Saudi Arabia and American Middle East and Gulf military installations.

Hizballah in Lebanon and Hamas and Jihad Islami in Gaza stand ready to pitch in against Israel with attacks from the north and the southwest.

Saudi oil export terminals would be blown up and mines sown in the Strait of Hormuz to impede the export of one-fifth of the world’s oil.

Khamenei put before his war council a timeline of weeks for the coming conflict – September or October.

However, we, as a country, are not going to be able to address any of those international challenges unless we first get our domestic house in order."

Police Chaplains Told to Stop Invoking Jesus

For the past seven years Pastor Terry Sartain has ministered to police officers and their families in Charlotte, N.C. Whenever the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Dept. invited him to deliver an invocation, he prayed in “the name of Jesus.”

But not anymore.

Volunteer chaplains in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Dept. will no longer be allowed to invoke the name of Jesus in prayers at public events held on government property.

Major John Diggs, who oversees the chaplain program, told television station WSOC that the policy is a “matter of respecting that people may have different faiths and that it is not aimed at any one religion or denomination.”

Sartain, the pastor of Horizon Christian Fellowship, told Fox News Radio he was scheduled to give an invocation at a promotion ceremony. Before the event, he received a telephone call from his superior major.

“I was told chaplains can no longer invoke the name of Jesus on government property,” Sartain said. “(He said) if I could refrain from that during the invocation he would appreciate that.”

Sartain said he was surprised by the telephone call. The pastor said he’s prayed “consistently” in the name of Jesus at past police department events without any issues.

“I’m very sad about it,” he said. “I’m a pastor and Jesus is the only thing I have to offer to bless people – his life and his person.”

“It brings about a very real concern about where we are heading as a nation,” he said. “I serve a God who loves people unconditionally, who died for their sins on the cross, who wants to reconcile himself to them and love them where they are at – and now I’m told I can’t bless people as a result of that.”

The police department said he could still pray – just not to Jesus.

So to whom was the Christian minister supposed to pray?

“That was my question,” Sartain said. “If I’m going to pray – what should I pray?”

He said the police department wanted him to deliver a “secular prayer.”

“Even when I wasn’t a Christian – in my past – I didn’t even know what a secular prayer was,” he said. “Why even pray if it’s to the one who’s in the room? That could be anybody.”

Sartain said the new policy has put him in a difficult spot.

“You don’t want to compromise your faith,” he said. ‘At the same time you want to honor those who are in charge over you.”

So Sartain asked the police department to withdraw his name from consideration for future public prayers.

“I didn’t really need to do that as a chaplain,” he said of the public prayers. “I still wanted to have the influence with the police officers and their families.”

At least some people in the Charlotte area support the decision to remove the “Jesus-centric” prayers.

“It’s past time when they should’ve made a policy,” ACLU member Jim Gronquist told WSOC. “It’s improper to mix up religion with the function of state agents, and as long as they’re state agents, they should not be able to do that.”

Sartain said it’s apparent that “Christians for the most part are targeted in these days that we exist in.”

“As Christians in the United States of America – what we are saying as believers – is we want the same rights and privileges as everybody else,” he said. “Let the playing field remain level.”

Obama Backs Away From ‘Fine’ Comment

President Obama on Friday afternoon backed away from his earlier comments that the “private sector is doing fine,” telling reporters that he does not believe the economy is doing fine.

“That’s precisely why I asked Congress to start taking some steps that can make a difference,” Mr. Obama said in brief remarks to reporters during a meeting with the visiting Philippines president.

Republicans had seized on comments Mr. Obama made during an earlier news conference, in which he repeatedly made the point that hiring at private businesses is doing well, while hiring by state and local government is not.

“The private sector is doing fine,” Mr. Obama said at the news conference.

But by later in the day, Mr. Obama had decided to emphasize that he does not believe that the overall economy is doing fine, as Republicans were trying to suggest.

“Listen, it is absolutely clear the economy is not doing fine,” he said. He suggested that Republicans had misstated his words from earlier in the day.

“I think if you look at what I said this morning, what I’ve been saying consistently over the last year, we’ve actually seen some good momentum in the private sector,” he said. “There’s been 4.3 million jobs created, 800,000 this year alone, record corporate profits.”

He added: “And so that has not been the biggest drag on the economy.”

Mr. Obama said the economy “needs to be strengthened,” adding that “I believe that there are a lot of Americans who are hurting right now, which is what I’ve been saying for the last year, two years, three years, what I’ve been saying since I came into office.”

First Test Flight for Military’s Mega-Drone

Up, up, and very far away.

At least, that’s the U.S. military’s eventual goal for Phantom Eye — a ginormous, hydrogen-powered uber-drone. The vehicle, manufactured by Boeing and designed as a huge surveillance tool, performed its first test flight at NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center last week, the company announced on Monday.

But Phantom Eye, which boasts a mammoth 150-foot wingspan, isn’t soaring to great heights just quite yet. During last week’s test, shown in the video above, the mega-drone reached an altitude of 4,080 feet and stayed airborne for a total of 28 minutes, reaching a cruising speed of 62 knots.
That’s a far cry from what the military wants the drone to eventually do. Phantom Eye is supposed to reach a maximum altitude of 65,000 feet and stay aloft for up to 96 hours — that is, four whole days — at speeds reaching 150 knots. That would make the flying spy the biggest and longest-loitering drone the United States has. (Don’t worry, it’s not armed.)

The Phantom Eye’s size means the drone can be loaded up with a whopping 450 lbs. of sensors and cameras — which will come in handy for toting the military’s forthcoming spy gear, like Gorgon Stare, designed to spy on “city-size” areas, or the Army’s ARGUS sensor, which collects the equivalent of 79.8 years of video footage each day. Combine that capacity with a lengthy loiter time, and you’ve got a high-flying spy system that can peek on entire cities for days at a time.

Phantom Eye’s flight debut was a small step forward for the ambitious drone, which Boeing first introduced in 2010. But the test wasn’t flawless — the giant spy machine sustained a broken landing gear upon touchdown. This isn’t the first time the mega-drone has encountered technical difficulty. Although Boeing initially planned to test-fly the Phantom Eye in 2011, that date was pushed back because of unspecified tech concerns.

Not to mention that, in 2010, the company aspired to an initial test flight of 8 hours. Last year, company officials told Danger Room that the Phantom Eye’s first flight had been scaled back to “maybe two to four hours.” Obviously, those goals are both far cries what Phantom Eye ended up accomplishing: 28 minutes in the air.

Of course, that’s what testing is for, and in any event, Phantom Eye is years away from actual military use. Still, it’s a little unclear what value a gigantic drone has, given that Congress is pushing the Air Force to deploy giant spy-blimps, which can lug even more spy gear while loitering for longer periods of time. But the blimps are technically complex and expensive, and the Air Force is getting cold feet about them.
